Yesterday evening we uncorked a vibrant bottle of Golden Kaan Chardonnay (2004) from the Western Cape of South Africa. Golden Kaan is a joint venture between KWV International and Racke (of Germany).
The bottle was chilled in the fridge so therefore was probably just a little too chilled to get the full body of the Chardonnay but none-the-less the crisp, fruity overtone taste complimented the Lemon Caper chicken entree we had for dinner.
The label reads:
Subtle peach and nutty aromas lend appeal to this well balanced Chardonnay. This wine, with soft wood flavours, will compliment grilled fish and small game birds. Serve at 50-54F.
