Gorgonzola cheese

Is there a better mix of cheese and fruit on a salad than gorgonzola mixed with sliced pears and chopped walnuts? Not really, goat cheese comes pretty close however. I’m going to be making this salad to accompany my Orange-Marinated Flank Steak.  Should go perfect.

When I create salads I really don’t measure any of the ingredients, I don’t see the point. If you want more pears add them, if you prefer goat cheese and apples, do that.  Basically, follow the recipe as a guide and then experiment. That is what makes cooking and preparing food exciting.

Ingedients

  • 4 oz Gorgonzola Cheese, crumbled
  • 2 pears, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 heads of Boston lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of vinaigrette of choice (prefer balsamic)
  • 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts, or whole candied walnuts

Combine all the ingredients and toss well. This will serve about 4 people.
