<p>Here is a great family <a class="zem_slink" title="Tomato sauce" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomato_sauce"  target="_blank">spaghetti sauce</a> recipe I received from my mom.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a great homemade sauce recipe if you ask me! This recipe makes a smaller amount, so I always double it and add another can of stewed tomatoes. Feel free to add a splash of <a class="zem_slink" title="Merlot" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merlot" target="_blank">Merlot</a> as well it give it a little extra taste.</p>
<ul>
<li> 5 cups stewed tomatoes (or combo of pureed, diced and stewed)</li>
<li>6 Tbsp minced parsley</li>
<li>6 Tbsp <a class="zem_slink" title="Bell pepper" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_pepper"  target="_blank">green pepper</a> diced (if you want)</li>
<li>2 1/2 tsp salt</li>
<li>1/2 tsp pepper</li>
<li>3 tsp sugar</li>
<li>2 sm bay leaves</li>
<li>1 tsp <a class="zem_slink" title="Worcestershire sauce" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worcestershire_sauce"  target="_blank">Worcestershire sauce</a></li>
<li>2 cloves garlic, minced</li>
<li>2 small cans <a class="zem_slink" title="Tomato paste" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomato_paste"  target="_blank">tomato paste</a></li>
</ul>
<p>Combine ALL of the above and simmer for a few hours. Are you a garlic lover, add full cloves for a delicious taste and find the full cloves while eating! Do you like mushrooms?  Add them too.  Go ahead and be creative, that is what cooking is all about.</p>
<p>Today (April 27, 2008) I made the sauce again today.  Didn&#8217;t even measure any of the ingredients but used them as a road map. Instead of Merlot wine I added a good amount of Cabernet Sauvingnon that we had opened last night. So far my taste tests have proven good. This is darn good sauce today!!</p>
