If you are planning a wine tasting party or just having a few bottles on a Saturday night, you'll probably want to nibble on something while sipping and tasting your wines. I'm going to give you some helpful tips and information on what cheeses go well with different wines. Tips on Serving The serving order of cheeses should basically follow the pouring of wine, for example you will want to start with the lighter flavors and move to the heavier, more potently flavored cheeses as you pour from white to reds. To enjoy the softer cheeses (brie, chevre, etc) it is recommended that you slightly chill it. This preserves the consistency and texture. On the flip side, your harder cheeses such as Parmesan and Pecorino should be taken out of the refrigerator early and served at room temperature.

Image via Wikipedia Today is Thursday and that means another review of a recently tasted wine. This week I'll review Funky Llama Shiraz (2007) from the Mendoza Region in Argentina. Uncorked this bottle last week and was surprised at what this sub-$10 bottle of wine had to offer. If I remember correctly, I paid $5 for this bottle at my local Pennsylvania Wine and Spirits store.
Subtle peach and nutty aromas lend appeal to this well balanced Chardonnay. This wine, with soft wood flavours, will compliment grilled fish and small game birds.
