Image via Wikipedia Today is Thursday and that means another review of a recently tasted wine. This week I'll review Funky Llama Shiraz (2007) from the Mendoza Region in Argentina. Uncorked this bottle last week and was surprised at what this sub-$10 bottle of wine had to offer. If I remember correctly, I paid $5 for this bottle at my local Pennsylvania Wine and Spirits store.
AImage by jasmined via Flickr Here's a mix of my Number 1 cocktail, a Long Island Ice Tea, merged with the ever-healthy Green Tea. I found this recipe last summer but I can't remember from where. The drink is pretty good during the heat of the summer, as you can taste the green tea infused vodka fairly well. If you are planning on making this drink, you will need to prepare the Green Tea Vodka first, see below. Ice 2 ounces Green Tea Vodka, recipe follows 1/2-ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice 1-ounce orange liqueur 1/4-ounce golden rum 2 to 3 teaspoons Simple Syrup, recipe follows Flowery Ice Cubes, for garnish (optional) Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add Green Tea Vodka, lemon juice, orange liqueur, and Simple Syrup. Cover and shake until mixed and chilled, about 30 seconds. (In general, the drink is ready by the time the shaker mists up.) Strain into a tall glass filled with Flowery Ice Cubes, if using.
